Teach Yourself Borland C++ Builder 4 in 21 Days by Kent Reisdorph, Brian Gill

A decent book to start learning C++Builder, but more experienced programmers will need more than this book offers. The book pretends to cover (almost) everything you want to know about C++Builder programming. It does, but the more difficult subjects get nothing more than an overview telling you what is possible, but not how to actually do it. As I said, very interesting book for beginners but it will not turn you into an expert.

Who's Afraid of C++? by Steve Heller

If you are entirely new to C++, object-oriented programming or programming in general, this is the perfect book for you.
Instead of trying to explain everything you might want to know about C++ (which no book has done yet and probably none ever will), this book will explain you the very basic things every C++ programmer has to know. This is done in such a way that anybody can understand, even if you are, for some reason, afraid of C++. You will not be afraid any more when you have finished this book.
In fact, the book was written while the author was teaching C++ to someone completely new to programming, via email. All the questions for clarification the student asked - which you will very likely be asking too - are clearly answered.
On the included CD, you will find a full-featured 32-bit C++ compiler and debugger so you can learn C++ without spending money on expensive development suites first.
If you are considering to use Borland's C++Builder, but you do not know a thing about C++ yet, check out this book. It will give you a solid foundation in C++ programming which you cannot do without. The other books about C++Builder assume you already have this foundation. You can buy the printed book by clicking on the link above, or you can check out the book's complete contents online at the author's web site: http://www.SteveHeller.com.
When you are finished with this book, buy one of the books listed above to get to warp speed with C++Builder.
Correction: You'll want to get "Who's Afraid of More C++" (see below) first.

"Who's Afraid of More C++" continues exactly where "Who's Afraid of C++" left off. You will learn about the more difficult aspects of C++, such as inheritance, polymorphism, and the effective use of pointers. It does not only teach the language C++, but will also teach you what clear and effective programming techiques are.
After reading through this book, you will be fully prepared to get onto speed with C++Builder.

Offers solutions in clean and elegant C++Builder code (using quite a lot Win32 API functions) to many common but difficult to hanldle C++Builder programming problems. You will even find that some of the examples explain how to do some nice things which you thought to be impossible. Sophisticated topics are explained in comprehensible language. Keeping this book handy will save you many hours of frustration trying to figure out how to solve a particular problem. An excellent reference guide, but not for beginners.
